When we look at the moon, it seems that its shape changes every night. However, the shape of the moon is constant. We see the moon’s different phases because of its movement around its orbit.
The moon does not have its own light, but it reflects the light of the Sun. As the moon orbits the Earth, the Sun lights up different parts of it. These illuminated parts are the different phases of the moon that we see.
There are 8 moon phases:
- New
- Waxing Crescent
- First Quarter
- Waxing Gibbous
- Full
- Waning Gibbous
- Third Quarter
- Waning Crescent
Whatever phase you’re in, this shirt is a cool reminder that we all need some patience to go through life’s processes.
